Ricardo Pimenta is an international marketer with a passion for leading purposeful global brands with a positive social impact. His most recent assignment was Global Brand Vice-President for Unilever’s Vaseline. Under his guidance, Vaseline charted its fastest growing period in recorded history, making the brand one of the key contributors to Unilever Personal Care performance.
Since joining Unilever in 1993, Ricardo has built brands that go beyond the call to action and work to improve the lives of others. He was responsible for spearheading Unilever’s social mission with Lifebuoy, a global initiative that promoted healthy hygiene habits through hand washing from 2009-2010. The initiative, which helped dramatically cut the incidence of life-threatening diseases in 14 countries, has since become a case study for the company’s recently launched Unilever Sustainable Living Plan.
Prior to his current global role, Ricardo held reigonal leadership positions at Unilever in Chile, Argentina and his native Brazil. During this period he managed a number of brands across the Unilever portfolio, including Lux, Dove, Pond’s, Rexona, Axe, Pepsodent and Omo.
Ricardo holds an undergraduate degree from University of Sao Paulo, as well as an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management. He is also a married father of two currently living on the east coast.
